South County Archers, inc (SCA) is a leader in promoting and supporting the sport of archery in St. Louis & surrounding areas. SCA formed as a club in 1964 and incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 1994.
The purpose of this organization is to foster, expand and perpetuate the sport of archery. Promote the spirit of good fellowship and to encourage the use of bow and arrow in the hunting of all legal game; cooperate with conservation organizations in the conservation and management of all wildlife, forestry and property.
SCA maintains a walk-through field course archery range consisting of 28 stationary targets in Jefferson Barracks County Park. We conduct three (3) major 30 target 3D archery tournaments annually plus we host 3D fun shoots weekly every Wednesday from the first Wednesday in April until the first Wednesday in October at our archery range located in the Jefferson Barracks County Park. In addition to that, we want to promote the sport and unite families in the outdoors.
Our involvement in the community ranges from helping support two exceptional veterans’ charities (The Joshua Chamberlain Society and the St. Louis Fisher House), supporting and donating to youth archery programs such as MONASP (Missouri-National Archery in the Schools Program), kids summer activity camps at Jefferson Barracks Park by teaching our youth about the great sport of archery. The activity camps are held three times per year in conjunction with St. Louis County Parks Department. Many of these kids experience archery for the first time during this event. South County Archers supplies all the equipment and instructors for all the events, we also work in conjunction with the VA hospital offering archery assistance, helping with disabled/wounded Veterans, by being part of their rehabilitation. We also participate in a three-day event at St. Louis Sports Show teaching our youth how to shoot archery.
Other notable endeavors, include donation to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Christmas to help needy families and donating food to the “Feed My People”
